Privacy Policy
Elluna is built around a simple promise: we keep as little data about you as we can. There is no account, no email, no password. This page explains what we do collect, why, and how long it stays around.
What we collect
- An anonymous device identifier. Your browser or app generates a random UUID on first launch and stores it locally. We use it to count free-tier narrations and to know whether your device is on a paid subscription. It cannot be used to identify you personally and is never sold or shared.
- Your IP address, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. If your app or browser doesn't send our anonymous device identifier (for example with certain privacy settings active), we also use your IP as a fallback identifier so free-tier usage caps still apply. Never used for advertising or to identify you across other services.
- The details you type into the form (character name, what they love, the mood, voice choice) while a story is being generated. We send these to our AI providers — Anthropic for the text, ElevenLabs for the narration — so they can create your story. We keep the generated story text on our server for up to 24 hours so you can replay it. The MP3 narration is cached for up to 30 days so replays are free.
- Your subscription state (free or Pro), from Apple StoreKit purchase records. We do not see your payment details; Apple handles the payment and Elluna stores only the yes/no entitlement and any purchased credit balance.
About the character name you type into the form: this is whatever you want the story to be about. You can type your child's nickname, a pet's name, a made-up character, or a pseudonym — we don't ask, verify, or store it anywhere other than as part of the story you generate, which is kept on our server for up to 24 hours so you can replay it. The character name and your last form choices (e.g. mood, voice, length) are also remembered locally on your device so the form is pre-filled next time; clearing your browser's site data or uninstalling the app removes them.
What we do not collect
- Your real name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information.
- Your location.
- Advertising identifiers (Elluna has no ads).
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, or microphone.
- Analytics tracking across other apps or websites.
Who we share data with
- Anthropic — to generate story text. Their privacy policy applies to that processing.
- ElevenLabs — to generate narration audio. Their privacy policy applies to that processing.
- Render — our hosting provider.
We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, ever.
Children's privacy
Elluna is designed for parents to use with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The app is operated by a parent (or guardian) on their own device; the stories are written for the child but the account, such as it is, belongs to the adult who installed the app.
Your rights
You can delete all data Elluna has about you by:
- Uninstalling the app (clears your anonymous identifier and saved favourites).
- Clearing your browser's site data on the web version.
- Cancelling your subscription in the App Store or Play Store.
Because we don't collect identifying information, there's no account to "log into" — but if you'd like confirmation that your device's data has been removed, or want us to delete anything else, reach out and we'll handle it: support@ejmdigital.com.au.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes. The "last updated" date at the top will move; significant changes will be flagged in-app on next launch.
